Bhuvneshwar was born on 5 February 1990 Meerut, made his first international in the very shortest form of the game and he straightaway ripped through Pakistan’s top-order at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The way he set-up batsmen with great quality swing bowling impressed many and his ODI debut were not too far away.
He was selected for the ODI series against Pakistan, which followed the T20Is.
He represents remarkably Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket. He came into greatly during the Duleep Trophy in 2012-13 when he made a match-changing 312-ball 128 runs in the second semi-final for Central Zone against North Zone. He also holds the unique record of becoming the first player to remove Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in Indian domestic cricket when he knocked him over in the 2008-09 Ranji Trophy final.
Bhuvneshwar was picked up in the Indian ODI squad for the Champions Trophy in 2013. He was after selected for the tri-nation tournament where he posted his career best figures of 4-8 against Sri Lanka. He was awarded for that match the Man of the Series in that tournament after he finished the series with most wickets.
Since then, Bhuvneshwar played only when the conditions are deemed helpful for his style of bowling. As such, his 2016 season was restricted to just four Tests – one of them almost a complete washout. Still, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two five-wicket, one each against West Indies and New Zealand. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s maiden wickets in T20Is, ODIs, and Tests were all bowled.
