Sliced yellow and green bell pepper (use any color bell pepper)2 cups
For stir-frying (idlies and bell pepper) 2 Tbsp oil
Red chilies 6
Oil (canola or vegetable oil) 2 Tbsp
Soy sauce 2 Tbsp
Vinegar 1 Tbsp
Ginger paste or finely grated ginger (adrak) 1 Tbsp
Tomato paste 1 Tbs
Sugar ½ tsp
Corn starch 2 tsp
Water 1 cup
In about 1/2 cup of water,boil the red chilies till they are tender. Now cool off.
In the blender blend all the ingredients of sauce together-oil, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, tomato paste, sugar, and corn starch if needed add more water.Over medium heat boil the sauce.
Sauce should be pouring consistency. Set it aside.
Cut the idlies in 6 pieces. Over medium flame heat the oil in frying pan.
Add the idlies and sprinkle the salt over it. Fry for 3-4 minutes till idlies turn into golden brown colour.
Fry the bell pepper for 2-3 minutes, they taste better when they are still crisp. Add fry idlies to bell peppers.
Pour the sauce and mix well.
Serve it immediately.
